Artists are confronted with a paradoxical task: how to translate invisible ideas or emotions into tangible objects. In an attempt to close the gap Marcelle van Bemmel prefers to use "materials" that do not have a definable shape, like water, reflections, light and shadow, and time as well.

This resulted in works that are usually strongly related to their surroundings and the public.
